Yes! People who are not affiliated with the university can sign up for a community card. This involves filling out an application with contact information. Community users do not need an identification card in order to apply. Community users can check out items at UMD, and can request items from other U of M campuses. Items accessed via the interlibrary loan system are not available for community users however.
